"I want to perform an unnatural act."

- Lenny Bruce

"I get a kick out of being an outsider constantly. It allows me to be creative. I don't like anything in the mainstream and they don't like me."

- Bill Hicks

"I don’t like ass kissers, flag wavers or team players. I like people who buck the system. Individualists. I often warn people: “Somewhere along the way, someone is going to tell you, ‘There is no “I” in team.’ What you should tell them is, ‘Maybe not. But there is an “I” in independence, individuality and integrity.’” Avoid teams at all cost. Keep your circle small. Never join a group that has a name. If they say, “We’re the So-and-Sos,” take a walk. And if, somehow, you must join, if it’s unavoidable, such as a union or a trade association, go ahead and join. But don’t participate; it will be your death. And if they tell you you’re not a team player, congratulate them on being observant."

-George Carlin

"The more I see, the less I know for sure."

- John Lennon

Stop in the Name of Pants! - Louise Rennison 3.5 stars!Georgia is back! We join Miss Thing when she's on the camping trip gone to hell, and we're immediately treated to a prime example of her hilariousness. Georgia has left Dave the Laugh after an argument, stomping about in the wilderness, then begins to worry that wild pigs might find her and see her as "some chops in a skirt". Her thought process follows as such:I could climb up a tree.Could they climb trees?Could I climb trees?Oh God, not death by pig!!!Luckily our heroine escapes and is left to deal with the typical boy drama of her Italian boyfriend Masimo and her guy friend (but clearly her perfect match) Dave the Laugh. What makes this installment of the series stand out is the interaction between Georgia and her mother. While Georgia treats any conversation with her mother as a boring obligation (as some girls that age do), she actually does listen and interact with her. It seems as if Miss Nicolson's parents are going through midlife crises and it leaves her (and the reader) wondering if they're going to make it out together. The emphasis, however, is on Georgia's romantic relationships and her friendships. There's also the nemesis in Wet Lindsay (at one point Georgia decides she must "kill her and eat the evidence"), but our girl makes through all this muck with her sense of humor and confidence in tact (well, usually). All in all, a good addition to the series.A snippet: -"I am making a hat out of leaves.Rosie said, 'What is that?'I said, 'It is a hat made of leaves and so on. It is a triumphant celebration of the great outdoors.'Rosie said, 'No, it is not, it is some old leaves and it is WUBBISH.'Yes, well, that is as maybe, but it is better than her "natural orchestra", which is essentially a bit of rice in some tins and a couple of spoons."
